I know I'm not a huge fan either... Chris and myself are discussing makeing the MlR bigger and I would also like to change the rule you brought up as well. If everybody agrees make a post here just so we can see whos intrested in change.
It is a rule borrowed from Franchise GM. It was used in that league to promote farming of young minor leaguers from the entry draft to the major league roster.
The rule most likely will not be changed. It is there to prevent exactly what it is you want to do. The purpose of the MiLR is not to stockpile prospects, it is to maintain the hands you actually drafted. It keeps parity in the league when you cannot keep all your prospects in the minors on a revolving door.Plus, say I bid on a guy and win him for say 2m a year. I put him on the MiLR roster so once he comes off his salary is now at the cap hit determined by his draft position. Simply a revolving door loophole. I like your thoughts though, keep the coming.
