Hello,

Most probably this has already been answered on several occasions, but couldn't find an answer on a sneak peek.

If a player leaves to KHL (Kovy, Burmistrov etc), how will this be treated? Can the retirement B/O be used in these cases?

NEW 2012-13 Retired Players: NHL players who have announced their retirement can be bought out at 40.0% (x 0.40) of their contract value, standard b/o policy above apply.

EDIT: Discard this, just noticed that it was stated in the next paragraph  :win:

I would think where Kovalchuk officially retired from the NHL he could be bought out at the .40.

Burmistov didnt retire , he just signed a new contract in the KHL.

Indeed, not retired but:

NEW 2012-13 Player Signs with Non-NHL affiliated Team:: NHL eligible players who have signed a contract to play in a non-NHL affiliated league (ie. KHL, SEL, etc) excluding AHL and ECHL, can be bought out at 40.0% (x 0.40) of their contract value, standard b/o policy above apply.

Below the subject-field is the "message icon". Pick NHL in the first box and TOR-NHL in the second. That should do it.

Read some conversation about the extensions. If I now extend a contract that expires after the up and coming season 13-14 using previous two years' stats. Shouldn't the extension take place after the season and not straight away?
How will this be shown in the roster page?

Edit: or is it really so that this is a loophole that can be used? Extension replaces the current contract's last year?
