Many other leagues are putting the players on fantrax but not on their respective teams. Instead they are put on divisional minor league teams to keep them out of the available players list. I am still against having them on the teams as it is cap circumvention having a player without a contract playing on your team. A player like RNH could have played most of last season without a contract and be putting up points for his team, it is unrealistic.

I think you have to evaluate what's better for the league.  Allowing a player to gain points for 40 games or allowing teams to rob teams.  Also, RNH is a rare exception.  Much more likely that a player is dealt with like Jordan Caron, brought up and sent back down various times. 

Maybe we should shrink it to 20 games? 

I just don't think the looting is a good practice and you won't convince me it is.

Fantrax question: Is it possible to have the minors locked, so they could be on your team but only the commish/mods could activate them if you signed them to a contract, therefoer they show up as being taken and no one will be able to use them without the commish changing it, something he would have to do anyway

Yeah, you create a team and assign them to that roster.

I've been in dynasty leagues where old owners trashed the team and left it in really bad shape. Every league needs ways for the new managers to come in and clean house if needed so they can rebuild the team using a different strategy. I say leave the rule as is.

that's a great example drew.

also, this has been address a few times in 2011-12 and i dont see the urgent need to reopen this. however, everyone is free to discuss and if it turns out that there's a huge and overwhelming desire to place players on the scoring site and we can work out the issues with doing so, then we can go down the road of setting up an actual vote for that change.

requesting the MiLR list in one page as the minor players not listed in fantrax team page,,,
so we will not have a hard time locating minor players in each team page here in profsl,,,
and so we can know immediately if the player we want to sign in FA is not part of a teams minor roster.....

great suggestion. i just checked into that and unfortunately there's no setting in the commish setup tools for rosters to restrict permissions on specific positions (such as restrict movement for players designated as "Minor League".

With lots of GM's having concern on prospects .

i think the best way would be that every player drafted should get a  2-way contract  right away .                                         

ex : Nail Yakupov, $3.0m (EL 2014-15) 2-way
and if the player do not play 1 game in the NHL during his contract the GM can renew it for another 3 years or release him .

this way if a GM is daily active he will be rewarded by being able to use him ( 24 hrs notice ) and if not daily active he will lose some points ... plus if one GM quits without noticing then the next GM that will get the team will still have those player.
