I give up the best player and a starting goalie but I get a great haul of picks to help rebuild my minor league system. The extra $9.4m in cap space is also a huge boost to help with FA this year. My top 2 players I want in the draft are still on the board so I know I will get one of them!!

Looks like a lot but doesn't feel like a lot, probably should have been a higher level prospect thrown to Pittsburgh but hopefully Pittsburgh can use that pile of picks to restock quickly.

 

The Vegas pick is OTC so maybe Vegas should pick the player Pittsburgh wants and just send him in the deal?

I definitely think Vegas got the best of this and somehow Tony sweet-talked his way out of giving up more. This deal is about quantity vs quality and both owners trying to reshape their team as they want. Jesse can into an established Penguins squad and wants to make it his own. He moves 1 of his 3 starting goalies and a top end forward, but gains some decent futures if he drafts well.
