Tampa Bay accepts. My Lightning need more help on the blueline and Martinez still have the tools to get the job done. Adding a draft pick to build our minor league system is a plus. As much as I like MDC, he's worth more to us in this deal than as a prospect. Thanks Beef!

New management on the Island has seemingly helped the careers of several players, most recently Robin Lehner and Michael Dal Colle in the AHL. I see Dal Colle having a breaking through full season in the NHL this coming year and that makes this a winning trade for Buffalo. Martinez will see an improvement on last season's numbers but the Kings are rebuilding and that limits their players' value.
