Since this is a zero-sum league meaning all MLB teams are represented ,and teams don't play more than 1 game per week, you could make a reasonable argument that the limit should be no higher than 7 GS per week. Remember, in order for 1 team to have more than 7 GS per week, another team would have less than that number.
7 GS per week is fine if we have to set limits. Although IMO it actually hurts the small market teams rather than helping them. The large market teams will simply have five $20m SPs in their starting rotation and not bother with the second tier pitchers.
I respecfully disagree for two reasons. That same argument could be made for everyday players and doesn't seem to have prevent some really good small market teams like the As and Brewers from doing well. Second, that's the same obstacle our real-life counter-parts go through every day. Uh oh. Now, I expect someone to tell me that this this is not real life!
