Marlins trade
Hanley Ramirez SS

To Tampa Bay for
David Price P

I know this is a contracts league.  Please provide contract info as this is critical for a trade.

So, on average pitchers score less than half of what hitters score overall?  Maybe I'm understanding that wrong?  Or maybe my math is bad, lol...

I mean, it makes sense for a points league assuming there's no strict IP limit.  But, that makes Davis severely less valuable.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt but if we could see point totals for those 2 players it would be helpful.

It is a startup league, there is no available points data to list.

If the league is set up you should still be able to get this data.

Bleh, whatever.  I'm not going to veto this even if my math is right.  Stud pitcher for stud hitter.  If hitters are scoring twice as much as pitchers the salary makes up for the difference.

Mike told me that the league is not setup in a scoring type site yet.

The league is not on fantrax or any other site at this point, merely rosters via spreadsheet, teams picked and now in process of rookie draft.  I believe he is waiting to put it on ProFSL's scoring, thus the lack of a league setup.

Stud for Stud.  Hanley's $$$ and the potential uncertainty with his shoulder make this an ok move.

Hanley , if healthy, is a stud and long term he will be fine, even if he has to move off of SS. Price is a beast with alot more room to grow and his contract is sweet in this league. Assuming hitters point wise are more valuable, then the contract disparity evens this out. I am good with it.

ley Ramirez:
2012 - $15M
2013 - $16M
2014 - $16M

David Price
2012 - $1.5M
2013 - "Arbitration" - Will be actual MLB 2012 salary
2014 - "Arbitration" - Will be actual MLB 2013 salary
2015 - "Arbitration" - Will be actual MLB 2013 salary

Scoring is 49% batting, 38% pitching, 13% fielding. I was trying to get as close to 48/36/16 as possible, which is what Bill James theorizes is each component's contribution to the game.

Please take a look at the attached spreadsheet before making any assumptions on scoring. The last worksheet is a comparison for Hanley Ramirez and David Price for the past 3 years. The first 3 worksheets are what I used to determine the point value for each statistic.
