I think not changing it would've been the worse option, are we to never change anything?  The NHL changed their rules mid season with the whole elbow to the head, or coming from behind and they are still in business.  I think our fantasy league will weather this change and I hope if we run into something else that doesn't seem fit we will change it for the better.  No matter what time of year it is.

You are kidding right? Bull Crap excuses for getting stuff done makes me hate some leagues.

Don't give me this bs about the NHL changing the rules on illegal hits. That is something that can, and may be needed to changed within the season. It doesn't affect players contracts, or anything with how the front office of the team. Hardly affects how players play even, just need to be more careful how you are hitting something, but that's not the point here.

As for saying, "are we never going to change anything?" makes me sick.... It's nearly laughable how sad it is. I'm not sure what you attempting here, but the only thing you stated here was that you are in favor of the rule and that we need to change it now. Nothing said here has any bearing on how it will affect things since this season already is under way.
I honestly don't know why you went through all of this when all I did was ask a question... lol

All of this nonsense started with everyone complaining about how the last trade was past, and up until that this place was great. With all this bs and arguing it's start to make a turn for the worse.

I dont see how this will adversely affect anyone'steam?  Or would have drastically changed any teams moves up to this point. (other than the last 2 trades)

When would you propose that it be changed/ if at all?

New rule adds structure to the league regarding waivers, that is good. Should not matter as to when it is added. Common sense is to address a problem or rule as to when a problem or need might arise.

Why does making it almost impossible to dump bad contracts benefit the league.

Who would pick up Gomez for 3.7M or Huet or Leighton.

Remove the need for someone else to pick up dropped players, create a sliding scale on cap hit for amount of contract being dumped.

10M dump 4 M hit
8M dump 3 M hit
6M dump 2 M hit
<6M - 1.5M - 25% hit

No requirement for anyone to pick up anyone - waivers could have their own scale too.

I like Whomps idea as well.  It does offer a little more predictability and less work for Robo and the admins.  Since a waiver wire wouldn't need to be managed.

Although I think within 2 seasons you wont see to many "bad contracts" just more of them now due to inheriting the rosters.

Brew your getting all upset over a minor tiny rule change that really wont have any effect on the outcome of the league and your acting like Robo took your team and dismantled it. 80% of the leagues I am in now have changed rules early, mid and late season to benefit the "whole" of the league, which I believe this rule does.

I have Crapty contracts which I want to get rid of too, but I still think this is a great rule and will be great for the league goign forward. No need to get all hyped up over nothing....

And the GM most like Brian Burke Award goes to........... Brewcrew  :win:
You are getting very blustery Sir.  If this league is trying to emulate what the NHL is doing then the new rules do just that.  If we are trying to make a fantasy friendly league then I like Whomps proposition.

only change to whomps is the hit should be a little harder.  You dont want to make it too easy to drop players and then we end up with a mass dropping of players.
