Win to Calgary for acquiring quality and the best player in this trade with Kuznetsov. Buffalo adds a healthy package of prospects however I do not believe their is much of a ceiling on Siemens nor Wells, while Henrik Sedin is clearly past his prime and nearing retirement.

I prefer the out-clause with Henrik Sedin meaning his contract is set to expire and his 5.5m comes off the book free and clear if he retires, returns to Sweden or jumps to play in Europe next season. At teh same time he can be reupped at the same rate if he continues to show an increase in output. Either way Sedin will help our club next yr whether he's signed or gone. As for the specs, well they are speculative in nature based on some observation DD. I say Duncan will find his place soon enough.

The salary involved is similar. Calgary looks to gets younger and add a goalie that has a good skillset. Kuznetsov is our type of player to build the franchise around. Sedin (nearing retirement), Goligoski (older defender on a weaker team) and the 3 youngsters were not that steep of a price (Wells was the darkhorse we wanted to keep but we are getting a goalie in return).
