As it stands 3 owners support what Arizona wants, Arizona wants to move on, there are 3 vetos posted.

Of course Arizona wants to move on, everyone is bashing him. If you make a deal you should honor it. This has become a complete joke. At this point I could care less what happens with this trade or this league.

Not sure that I see a 3rd posted approval but it's an interesting split. The votes in favour are arguments for the right of self-determination while the votes against all proclaim Arizona isn't getting fair market value. So basically an apples versus oranges debate.

I approve the trade 

Haven't read all the posts but I'm chiming in with an approval. Arizona has been encouraged to do his due diligence so at this point it's his team, his money, and his decision. There is nothing shady going on here so let's kick jealousy to the curb and let them make a deal!!!

I think there is a good reason that goalies are highly valued in this league, there are 30 teams and only 30 starting goalies. But sometimes the way we evaluate these trades reinforces the high price of goalies.

Pavelski, Vrbata, and Johnny Hockey are great pieces and the later two have great contracts. The other 3 pieces coming give Arizona some depth which is something they are severely lacking. Lundqvist and Giordano would be hard to give up from any team, but I think this deal is gutsy and guts can pay off.

I think the Flyers win this trade, but only slightly and only short-term. By the time Arizona is a powerhouse, Hank won't be what he is now. This deal is not detrimental and the Coyotes aren't giving away the farm.

Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

3 reason why I'm posting a veto

(1) The deal is detrimental to Arizona because it leaves them without a proven starter in goal. And gents, Lundqvist is still a live fish and good for another couple of yrs if not more.  Yeah Lundqvist is definitely washed up after leading the Rangers to the Cup Finals in 2013-14 AND the 2014-15 Presidents' Trophy! 

(2) Arizona was not fully aware of how extensions and contract values get measured until this past weekend (the reason I gave him an out from his deal with )

(3) Arizona has asked to opt out of the deal so why are we giving the new owner a hard time here?

To be fair I'd say nobody was giving him a hard time. All the votes in favour were to protect his right to make his own choices and all the votes against were to protect his team. Pretty friendly all around and a testament to the character of the league.

The only guy who is upset here is Papps and I'm pretty sure he'll get over it as he has a heap of character too. A really determined guy would try a 3rd time.

Thanks for the words Slack, I appreciate it. I'm done wasting my time in this league. This league just dropped hard to the bottom of my priority list. Unless I feel the need to make trades then back out of them

Someone said it. Maybe in the first incarnation of this trade but how many teams can add a Center with a 7.9m cap hit?

Pavelski turns 31yo in July.
Vrbata turns 34 in June.
Lundqvist turned 33 last month. And he's supposed to be over the hill??? Whaaaa?

Reasons #2 & #3 above are enough to end this discussion.

Trade null and void. Papps will retain all his assets and not be any worse off. The new owner is red in the face but wiser for the experience.
