Anyone Not Returning in 2015-16

I don't think this has anything to do with paying the commishes. With all of the averages they presented above, the money coming in is either going to fantrax or the winners pocket. For me, the issue is the league fee went up without any prior notice or conversation. I have no problem with ten dollars, especially in a fun and unique league like this. I don't like the fact that it was sprung on me when last week I was told it would be $5

That is my point. That is wrong. Both the commish's should be given a small percentage for the work they do. This is a big problem with this site, everyone wants things for free. Without them, we don't have a league at all. $5 or $10 is no problem, we have not even finished this year yet.

If you have no problem with someone raising the price of something without any discussion or advanced notice, great, keep living your life that way. But I believe that we deserve at least a vote before such a drastic change is put into action.

A post as simple as "Hey, we are so lucky to have so many dedicated owners, that we would hate to see the prize pool dip to the point that its not exciting. Would anyone be opposed to raising the returning team fees?" Then we would set a poll. Something like that would have been appreciated.

Mind you, I think it is a great idea to raise the returning fee. An extra $5 is not straining at all, and I am assuming everyone that owns a team in this league is not suffering to the point that they cannot afford it.

Hey gents! I think you nailed it with your suggested post and man that's probably what I should've written. Sometimes I get busy and forget how the written word sounds. Sorry gents!

In the case where PR promised or committed to 5 I'm sure we'll honor that and figure out how it impact the championship prize.

I think we took for granted 10 wasn't a dealbreaker and just went with it to keep the prize value in the sexy gets me hot and bothered range. Love all the competitive we've got in the group and it's looking to get stronger next yr.

Good discussion and not too late. I think the issue of $5 vs $10 is more or less resolved (by way of a vote), but there is further opportunity to consider some related issues.

There will always be peaks and valleys with the prize pool as new GM's come and go bringing in more buy-in fees in some years than in others. So chasing the amount of any given years windfall by raising rates will not result in a stable award system. In this instance I don't have a problem with $10 but the increase doesn't actually address the underlying issue.

Also, I would think it would be preferable for everyone to know one year in advance of when future rate hikes are going to come into effect. Regardless of whether they are voted on or not, this kind of transparency and forward thinking can only be a good thing for the league!
