I am a staunch believer in position scarcity, therefore I value D-men over forwards.  However, in this case, the FWDs in question are two that I simply could not pass up.  Two young guys that I believe will pile up pts for the next decade, and begin doing so this season.  I didn't want o part with two solid young D-men to do it, but I am reasonably deep o my blue line. In short, Col made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Making Frank an offer he can't refuse is easier said than done. But we got it done. With this deal I believe I am over-paying appropriately given how shallow the pool of available defencemen is! Again, it's all about organizational needs.....thanks to Big D for a couple of Big D!!

Not sure youre overpaying at all. Works out nicely guys. Both teams get good young guys. The defensemen are ready to step in this yr.

I also don't view this as an overpayment. It seems pretty even to me. The D-men are more NHL ready.

Looks Even with both teams getting players and positions they need to be competitive.

Good to see prospects in play. Plenty of ripe talent in the farm systems throughout the league.
Shinkaruk is projected to be the best of the lot. Robak is supposed to be real good but needs the right situation.
I like this trade for both teams.
