So in the rules, it doesn't specifically say if there's a year limit on IR replacement contracts, but I think common sense would say that having an IR replacement on a 2-year contract doesn't make sense.
I also think you wouldn't have signed Anton had you known he couldn't have been sent to the minors or had to pay to release him.
I'm not 100% sure what the best plan of attack is here. I'm open to hearing everyone's sides to this.
Yes, honest mistake on my end, didnt pay attention to rules and always intended to move Anton down to minors (or lose him via waivers), post Mrazek returning. I also assumed Mrazek would miss more time and would probably need 3rd goalie for a bit longer.
I got no issue only 1 year contracts as IR replacement. In other league we allow multi year signing on replacments - then either make cap space or drop for free. Each league is different though so either way is cool with me.
As for this situation, I would appreciate if possible to release for free. If not only option I can think of is to pay buyout, but would have to be next year with my cap. Obviously don't like 2nd option but it's my fault so fine with whatever decision is.
