Cross-Court Dynasty: Completed Trades / Jazz/Kings Trade
« on: November 03, 2020, 01:38:55 AM »
Jazz Trade:

SF Joe Ingles 12.5m (2022)
SF Royce O'Neal 9m  (2024)
1st round pick 2021
1st round pick 2022

Kings Trade:

SG Buddy Hield 23.5m (2024)

This is deal I am most excited about among my moves. Took a few days of negotiationing and paying up the price with 2 1sts along with Ingles (and even O'neal aint bad but to me ain't worth salary so had to go either way)

I'm excited to see what this team can do with Hield now in the mix as a key part of the strategy I am implementing here.

Never great to move 3 years worth of total picks in any league, but building to win now while maintaining control of several key guys for a few years still.

Buckets of Dimes: Archives / RFA Rules Refresher
« on: November 02, 2020, 07:43:54 PM »
Full RFA Rules here:

http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=338107.0

Just a super quick Summary and points to keep in mind. Some new teams and with all the rules in general figure this might help.

1. Years are always total contract per a year.

In other words, when bidding on a player please list total yearly combined player salary as well as total years (1-4)

Eg. 2 years, $10m per year

Not too picky on format as long as it is clear. I like to go something 2y 10m/y

2. Compensation Rule. I think this is well worded and important so copying as is:

Draft Pick Compensation Values:
$0.5m - $6m per year = No Draft Pick Compensation
$6.1m - $13m per year = 2nd Round Draft Pick as Compensation
$13.1m - $24m per year = 1st Round Draft Pick as Compensation
$24.1m - $30m per year = 1st and 2nd Round Draft Pick as Compensation
$30.1m per year or more = Two 1st Round Draft Picks as Compensation

Note:
You MUST have the necessary draft picks available in order to make all of your RFA bids.
Example: If you only own one 1st round draft pick in the next 2 seasons, you cannot make two bids on two RFA's of over $13m per year. You would need two 1st round draft picks to do so.

Note:
The owner of the RFA gets to choose ANY of your draft picks available
Example: If you have three 1st round draft picks in the summer's draft, plus one 1st round draft pick in next year's draft, the owner of the RFA can choose the highest of your 3 picks in this year's draft, or choose to take next year's 1st round pick. The choice is theirs, not yours.

3. This part is unique to RFA so worth keeping in mind about cap flexibility

This will be slightly different from regular FA, due to the uncertainty of if the owner of the RFA will match the bid or not.

During RFA, you will be allowed to bid on RFA's and go up to over $15m of your available cap.

There is more in full rules if you are unsure but think this covers the most important points.

Cross-Court Dynasty: Invalid Transactions / Re: 76ers & Golden State
« on: November 02, 2020, 05:24:03 PM »
Copying exact same reasoning from original deal, as the addition of 2nd still don't justify it for me:

Sorry guys, I hate to do this but don't think this sets a good precedent. I paid more for Klay Thompson with less money paid. Thompson should still be good and fits what I want to do, but still Curry significantly more valuable and getting sold for a fair bit less.

The 1st is not even a high 1st so just can't justify this being the price for what is still arguably a top 5 player with 30m paid this year.

It's a new league and don't take vetoing lightly but do have to put this out there.

Buckets of Dimes: Completed Transactions / Boston RFA - Jaylon Brown
« on: November 02, 2020, 03:25:57 PM »
For record keeping, Boston is unowned and comish decision was to keep Jaylon Brown at his real life contract average of 28.8m and 4 years.

Cross-Court Dynasty: Completed Trades / Warriors/Jazz Trade
« on: November 02, 2020, 10:41:52 AM »
Jazz Trade:

1st round 2020 (current)
2nd round 2020 (current)
2nd round 2021
2nd round 2022
PG Nigel Williams-Goss  $1.7m (2022)
SG Miye Oni          $1.7m (2022)

Warriors Trade:

Klay Thompson   30m (2024)
-17m paid this year only

Moving a good chunk of my draft capital here along 2 prospects with some upside, but adding a proven veteran who fits what I am building. I expect a few more good year's from Thompson now that he should be healthy from that gruesome injury. Money paid makes this worth while as well and gives me just enough cap for another move I am hoping to make.

Buckets of Dimes: Archives / Poll - RFA and Franchise Tag
« on: October 24, 2020, 10:37:05 PM »
Pretty simple poll here. Currently RFA can be matched if team signs to a real life extensnion, but otherwise they must be won and matched via RFA bidding.

In other words, currently, franchise tag can be used on any expiring contract except expiring rookie contracts and therefore being part of RFA player pool.

Question is should we allow more flexibility for a team to have the additional tag option even if the player is RFA. Just another option for GMs if poll passes as I am flexible either way.
