trying to figure out how david backes is not on my team...... he is a "Blue" right?

It is the second season of Franchise NHL  and players have been traded. The players you see available are from the "eastern League", so if you view the eastern league you would see available players from the western league ie Kopitar

Due to the fantrax limitations, the league has been setup as two different leagues, one east and one west, but I believe the playoffs are still the same top 8 from each conference move on for the playoffs

I want to request to sign free agent goalie Prospect Petr Mrazek..
I don't know how to do this and I want first claim on this guy.
How do I do this.

Gilly you need to email me or call me.
I am really upset about this issue.
I am having a hard time on this site and fantrax.

You put a bid in for him on here and then management puts him on your roster for fantrax.  Read the rules in the rules section!

I'm thoroughly enjoying the rebuilding process with my Ottawa Senators team. Unfortunately it seems 33% of the league is not into replying to PMs. Oh well! I will have to make do.

As I see it now my Senators will be key players in the Free Agent market this off-season and it will be interesting to see which players get released from their teams either because of inflated contract extensions that make little to no sense or because the player is too old.

So it wasn't an overnight rebuild?  Like I said be patient, it will turn around.

In that case Snake you should hire a new GM to do the work for you as the owner. lol

Drew, I believe that works too but only for active teams. I also believe at any point a team can just stop playing in "re-building" mode and compete.

Joe, a long time is relative and I think in fantasy a "Long time" is one season. If you have to re-build for and not be competitive for more than one year you are bound to lose interest. No one like losing for too long.

I see my Franchise NHL Senators team as a 1 year re-build with a shift to my brand of core players and a farm system that's ready to move up within the next several months or become more valuable as prospects in that time.

A few people told me I can play without a starting goalie so I might just put that to the test or see what the off-season brings with the new pool of free agents.

I honestly think re-building is more interesting that taking over a winner or play-off team because there's more room to shape the roster to meet your needs and how you play.

Look at :STL-NHL: and tell me you can rebuild in 1 year and :ANA: is probably in a worse position, somehow. I understand :STL-NHL: , they suck in real life, but :ANA: is good.  Somebody drained that team bad. So, yes you can in 1 year, if you find a really bad GM and drain their team. Actually, someone drained my team too, best two players are absent from my team (pietrangelo, backes) I do have something that should at least help me and that is money. With contracts ending this year and current cap space, I will have 43M to work with

Actually, the real life :STL-NHL: Blues are an amazing team! They've been nearly unbeatable since late November when they switched coaches.  :toast:

The Franchise NHL :ANA: Ducks got destroyed by one trade last season that made little sense where they lost Getzlaf, Perry, Hiller and Fowler and in return received a bag of pucks, a pat on the back and a badly sung song and Mik' Koivu. How that deal passed I have no clue.  :soapbox:

Anyhow, my :OTT: Senators are looking and feeling great these days. A number of nice trades have put my team in a position to compete this off-season for resources and in the standings next season. Since taking over Ottawa in late November, I've been able to reshape the core and rebuild the farm so it's not impossible Jonathan. Either way we should look into doing a deal Jonathan.  :agent:

yes, can you tell I am not a :STL-NHL: fan LOL I bet if they had my team they would suck. They are good b/c of the guys I don't have. Oh well. :STL-NHL: is still looking for RW help and probably always will be.

I mentioned the insanity of this trade in another post and a bunch of people agreed that it was unfair, and yet somehow it passed. That trade was essentially equal to this:

I'd like to trade Danny Briere for Henrik Lundqvist, Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik & Ryan Callahan.

Perhaps it's just sour grapes, but I'll be chasing the Wild forever unless I'm able to pull off a trade like that.

yes, that is how you fix a team in one year, assuming it works salary wise.  Sign me up for that one. I agree  :judge:

  • dbreer23: Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...
  • Brent: Nope, 32-team contract league.
  • ldsjayhawk: I don't have Holiday.  Just used him as an example since he was the #1 prospect
    Today at 12:56:05 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: @Alpha I do make trades.  I am just not giving up the entire farm to land a guy I can get out of the FA pool
    Today at 12:59:21 PM
  • ldsjayhawk: Trading should be a win-win situation for both teams.
  • dbreer23: Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).
  • Brent: I had Holliday in FGM before I stepped away.
  • Brent: I am glad I cut back on leagues, I was spread too thin.
  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen
    Today at 01:52:08 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Trading isnt easy. But neither is winning
    Today at 01:52:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: If you made a list of the most aggressive gms to have stepped foot in nfl live, you will notice the champions will be among them
    Today at 01:53:06 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: You arent gonna win every trade and you HAVE to have a plan. Ive made some horrible trades. I have every year
    Today at 01:53:50 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Carolina has kyren williams right now cause i traded him for a 2nd and a 4th. Id rather have kyren today lol
    Today at 01:54:28 PM
  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL
    Today at 02:10:04 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: jwalkerjr88 is right
  • BayAreaBallers: on that u havat trade a bit here and there
    Today at 02:25:57 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: although my last draft class and fa class kinda lead me to a run so it can happen
    Today at 02:27:21 PM
  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did
    Today at 03:13:02 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Today at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Today at 03:14:39 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: *your
  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Today at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
  • Alpha5: Guarantee I know who he traded Kamara to for 1-7 without even looking
    Today at 05:22:42 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: alpha it was a good trade at the time
    Today at 05:29:49 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: my team was in the Crapter at that pt
    Today at 05:29:58 PM
  • Brent: Who did you draft with the 1st acquired in that trade?
  • Daddy: Whoever it was, he got six more choices on top of that. The "win win" scenario.
  • Daddy: At that time i had no RB1. So i traded an entire draft class to get one.
  • Daddy: SF doubled up his pick haul and went to work, using them in trades & draft return.
  • Daddy: Then beat me in the NFC Title game.
  • Daddy: RB is a hard position to nail down. If someone wants to trade me 1-7 for Kamara. Step right up.
  • BayAreaBallers: I gotta see what I did
    Today at 06:05:04 PM
  • Daddy: You got better
  • BayAreaBallers: i did so many moves trades and draft that i honestly dunno
