FGM 2010 Playoffs, Regular Season Review

Very close matchup right now with five days to go in the 2010 FGM World Series.

Dodgers are up big on the Yankees right now.  The Dodgers are on the verge of winning the World Series, and although respected, they were never #1 in my rankings throughout the season.  In the preseason, I even mentioned that the Rockies would contend with them for the division.  M.J.'s Dodgers proved they are a team to beat.

Congratulations to Mike "M.J." Mezzetti whose Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 1760 - 1261 in the 2010 World Series.  Corey Ramsey's Yankees went to their 2nd straight World Series, but this time the team lost.  The Dodgers weren't one of the absolute favorites like the Brewers, Yankees, or Phillies, but the team was very strong all year long.  Mike, the expectations are that your team will be in the hunt for years to come with a bunch of top tier talent coming up through the farm.

I am still waiting on some more votes for GM of the Year.  I will allow voting to continue until the end of the draft.  Also,  I have posted the season awards in the record book.  Below is a copy for all of you to enjoy.  Just admire how our scoring system has correctly identified the Cy Young winners and the rookies of the year.  McCutchen barely missed out to Heyward and Austin Jackson trailed both of them in the NL.  Jose Bautista proved his worth not just with his bat but with his glove (something no one ever doubted him).  Familiar names from the past jump into the Gold Glove awards with Pierre and Eckstein (whose bat was horrible this year). Plenty of repeat names from last year such as Mauer, Pujols, McCann, Choo, and Wells.

Using the official scoring system and what teams the players were with at the end of the season, the following players have won these awards.  Fantasy points are noted in parenthesis.
