Philadelphia agrees. I hate to lose Edler, as he is a big part of the Vancouver team, but I really need the 2.4M in cap space so I can keep some depth. But I do like McBain, and I do believe he will eventually become the player that Edler is now. And the pick definitely helps off set the point difference going to Nashvilles way.

I had to think about this one for a bit. I respect both GM's hockey knowledge so that made me approve it.

He was never really on the block, to be honest. I had a need and I knew Slackjack had the means to fulfill it. If I did not make this trade, I would be short three players all season. Now I get to keep Brenden Dillon (who is getting first line d pairing minutes), David Moss (who is playing really well for his contract value and fits my need at RW), and one more defensemen (most likely John Erskine for the moment... The caps need energy guys right now and he was posting a lot of solid minutes until he was suspended.)

As you guys said, not a great trade. But it did what I need it to do (kind of like the trade between Chicago and Pittsburgh).
