Early Season Favourites
« on: August 23, 2012, 12:35:45 PM »
Let's get some discussion going, who are the early season favourites to win the Cup this season. Can Chicago with a re-vamped team take it home again? Will a yearly contender in Philadelphia, Edmonton, Montreal or Vancouver take it home? Or will it be a surprise in the likes of Calgary or Pittsburgh with successful rebuilds?

Jeeze win my division in yr one and lose the cup in year 2 and get no love LOL JKJK

But I see Chi still a quality squad with a tonne of young power, EDM has a very strong team and Philly really puts a solid team effort in every game. Vancouver has a lot of star power and could make some noise as well.

In no particular I think the following top 5 on paper are.

:CHI-NHL:
:MON-NHL:
:EDM:
:ANA:
:PHI-NHL:

I also see other teams that have a chance this year or next.

:OTT: , :BOS-NHL: , :VAN: and :NAS:

Good luck to everyone this year.

Well not to toot my own horn, but Ive slowly put together a monster of a team...I honestly feel im in the stanley finals this year!!

My top 3 other than myself on paper with the best rosters to compete are,

1)  Edmonton
2)  Philadelphia
3)  Montreal

Honourable mentions go to Boston, Anaheim, Chicago, Nashville and a few others, but I see some other teams just slightly ahead but thats me :)

I definitely agree with this list... Although I see Nashville potentially pushing Montreal out of that top 5 with up to three goalies that could see a ton of 1A minutes.
