The 2012 FNHL Entry Draft is now complete. Pl verify your team rosters to ensure your draftees were added correctly  (NOTE: if you're missing a draftee, please post request in Transactions section and we'll updated accordingly).


2013 Draft Picks Un-locked; team pages will be gradually updated with the new draft picks (lower priority)

Pending Rule Changes to Draft... given the limited involvement in the final round and a half (some improvement from the 2011 FNHL draft) ... i will recommend rule changes to address:
    (a) # of draft rounds
    (b) how auto-picks are activated
    (c) penalties for not communicating absence  (3 teams "missed" the entire draft)
    (d) possible trade freeze on picks  (resulting from 1 draft pick related incident)
These rules are intended to:
    (i) ensure teams actively manage assets for their team's future, including future GMs
   (ii) reduce un-necessary delays for draft-ready teams
  (iii) reduce administrative wait-time for commissioners / executive committee
        members organizing the draft (constantly having to monitor the clock,
        send notices, post violations, etc.)

If we keep having 4 round drafts we might want to add a couple more minor spots to our roster starting next season

Reduce to 3 rounds if we can only draft 2012 draft eligibles.

Here are some simple drafting rules I use. You auto-pick twice in a row and placed on auto-draft for remainder of draft. This would also cover the missing of the entire draft.

Draft should freeze if a trade is made.

i'm thinking that's needed as well, good stuff... however we would gradually phase in the increase, +2 next yr, +3 the yr after... just a thought for now.

was thinking about that... personally, the Entry draft + MiLR was one of the big attractions to Franchise NHL + Profsl.

the solution of cutting rounds might not be the fix here.

the fix should be generate draft ready GM's ...
example negative incentives: penalty for not showing up x1 = 5% cap tax ... x2 = lose ONE top 3 defenseman ... x3 =  removal from league

the draft is actually critical to a dynasty league setup... you rebuild via free agency or the draft, ideally both.

why revise league rules to cater to the lowest common denominator of ppl who can't make time for something they signed up for? afterall, Profsl is supposed to be billed as a place for advanced leagues.
