Yes Another EDM and DAL Trade
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:29:03 PM »
Frans Nielsen, $0.5m (2011-12)
Ilya Kovalchuk, $6.7m (2013-14)
Chris Stewart, $2.9m (2011-12)
Jared Cowen, $2.0m (2013-14)
Jared Spurgeon, $0.3m (2012-13)
Luca Sbisa, $0.9m (2011-12)
:COL-NHL: 2nd Round
:BUF-NHL: 4th Round
:PHI-NHL: 5th Round

for

Jamie Benn, $0.8m (2011-12)
Bryan Little, $2.4m (2012-13)
Keith Yandle, $6.6m (2013-14)
Stephane Robidas, $3.3m (2013-14)
Leland Irving, $0.5m (2012-13)
:EDM: 5th Round

Edmonton does this trade because we will be unable to re-sign Benn because Eberle, Tavares, among others have became higher priorities. I move 2 big dmen for 3 young dmen on cheaper contracts and switch Little out for Stewart which I think is a pretty even switch as they are same age and similar points so far but Stewart wasn't playing good at all off the start of the season. Leland was Gilly's man goal along with Benn. So Kovy got thrown in because he is dual and putting up great numbers, hopefully he continues for the length of his contract. Get some picks, some young guns, and a couple power wingers that hopefully doesn't affect my chances at the cup. Thanks Gilly this one was quicker than you would think.

I approve. huge trade and as hard as it is to trade a stud like benn its even harder to give a 7m raise! so kudos drew for getting a great return. gills i hope you can resign him bud! i like the trade a lot for both guys.
