Oversight with Scoring Fixed (Weekly Lineup Changes)
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:13:02 PM »
The scoring system that was agreed upon last year was set so that lineup changes would be weekly.  This was never set on Fantrax.  Please excuse me for that slip up and make sure your rosters are set the Sunday before each weekly matchup.

I believe there is a mistake on the Fantrax schedule.  It shows week one as April 4-17 and week 2 April  18-24.  It should be week one April 4-10, week two April 11-17, and week three April 18-24.  It is showing as 2 full weeks in the first period and 1 week beginning with the second period.

I thought the first scoring period included Sunday, so it would be a one-day scoring period.. therefore I merged it.  I fixed it now, but this resulted in a new schedule.

Ben, this means you can't pick on my Pirates just yet, and it looks like that Indians-Angels match was rescheduled.

The head to head schedule is correct now with period 1 from April 4-11 and period 2 from April 12-18.  However, if you go under Teams -  Roster period 1 is still April 4-18 and period 2 is April 18-24 which means we cannot change our rosters until the 3rd head to head period which is April 18-24.

Odd, I noticed that... well I changed it to daily lineup changes.  This will be temporary until we can change it back to weekly either on the 12th or 19th.

BTW, if anyone has any problems with illegal lineups then let me know.  My opponent, M.J., of the Dodgers wasn't accruing any points until I fixed his illegal lineup that was there in the first day of the matchup.  Any illegal day will cause your points to be invalid.

He is now beating me. :rool:

I'll look into Fantrax and see if I can prevent illegal lineups from even being set.

Okay, it is probably just an issue at the beginning of the season.  I have illegal lineup checks set to Always...

Quote
Always
All roster limitation rules will be enforced. Teams will be restricted from making any lineup changes, claims/drops or trades that break any of the rules configured on this screen. Illegal rosters can never occur.

Therefore, the only way they would break is if they were broken in the first place.  Dan, make sure that when you make a transaction, that the new player goes to being a reserve.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be switching it back to weekly lineup changes as of next Monday.

1)  It is what we agreed upon in the scoring system.
2)  The different scoring per positional basis for players causes kinks with daily lineup changes.  Players need to stay at their position for the entire week.

Weekly lineups are to be set by Monday.   Just like in fantasy football, all moves will have to made prior to that week (Sunday) to be reflected.

Quote
Lineup Change Period
X

A Lineup Period refers to the length of time team rosters are locked for. Once the deadline for a particular lineup period has passed, team rosters are locked for that entire period. Transactions (lineup changes, claims/drops, trades) can only be executed for the next lineup period, not the current lineup period, with one exception (*). Transactions also apply to the whole period, and cannot be applied to just part of the period.

For example, if your league uses Weekly lineup periods starting every Monday, and you claim a player on Wednesday the 10th, during period #3, that claim will not take effect until period #4 starting on Monday the 15th, and will apply to that entire period, which includes all games played that Monday up until and including games played on the following Sunday the 21st (games started on that Sunday that don't end until Monday are also included). If your league uses Daily lineup periods, lineup changes will take effect either on the same day or the next day, depending on the lineup deadline (*).

The exact day & time when lineups are locked for the upcoming period varies, and is determined by the Lineup Deadline which you must also configure on this screen.

* The only time transactions can take effect for the same period is if your league uses Daily lineup periods, and lineups are locked at a Set amount of time before each player's game of the day.

** Head-to-Head leagues only: Lineup periods can be no longer than scoring periods, and must begin on the same day. For example, if you selected weekly scoring periods every Monday on the Schedules tab, then only daily, semi-weekly (beginning on Mondays), and weekly lineup periods (beginning on Mondays) will be available here. If you select Daily scoring periods, then you must use daily lineup periods.
