LW Matt Cooke, $1.8m (2012-2013)
Chicago Sends:

LW Viktor Stalberg, $1.4m (2011-2012)
RW P.A. Parenteau, $1.3m (2011-2012)
RW Tomas Kopecky, $2.3m (2011-2012)
2012 1st Round Draft Pick
Let's be honest, the Sabres suck (whether in Fantasy or Real Life mode) and aren't going anywhere this year with or without Backstrom. This move allows me to add a lot of young talent, a 1st round draft pick, and shed some salary so I can be more active in the FA market and resign a few young guys. Plus, I took like 6 2011 1st Rd. Draft picks in the contraction draft, and I'll need some cap space to sign them to my Major League Roster in the next few years.
It was some back and forth negotiations, with a lot of players being thrown in and out of the deal, but I think GoCubsGo7 and I reached a deal we could both agree on. Waiting for Chicago to confirm.
