This trade makes us both a little queasy so it's probably fair! Klingberg at only 25 is one of the top 3 producers in the league. I was looking for a bit more to be honest but have more draft picks than I know what to do with. So, setting that aside, I'm happy with the return. Hanafin and Necas for Klingberg and the cash. Suzuki for the 1st. Thanks to Carolina for the deal.

Tough to move Hanafin as he is still so young and on a NHL team that will be markedly better once they get even a league average goalie.  Necas just led the World Juniors in points and Suzuki is just an offensive force.  Klingberg will hopefully keep on keeping on being a top tier dude and bring me some points right now.

Average age of my team is just under 21...going to be more than just a couple years for this thing to mature. Realistically the lot of them don't reach peak for 6 years or so. Eventually I'm going to have to start trading back up for vets unless I want to have a prospect all-star team in 2024!

I dunno - nowadays it seems NHL players peak around 23-24.

Realistically tho... I did what you’re doing and got impatient the following year and traded all the prospects for really good players and started competing. Maybe I should have held off an extra year tho since my team is just mediocre still and not up to St.Lou’s standards!
