I accept this deal for reasons already explained.  I shed $4m in cap space and get a higher draft pick whereas Detroit gets a reliable starter who has proven he can be a middle of the rotation guy (or front if he can pull back his numbers from a couple years ago) and some depth at MI.

Mind giving an explantion on this one, too? I can definitely understand Colby, and if you are both in agreement I'll approve it, but I would like to know why you are giving up a younger, cheaper and possibly better pitcher...

i need a middle infielder and crosby is a guy i like and maholm is a servicable sp to go with. I also am not big on porcillo doesnt have good ks and i dont think he will be that good.

I surely feel like I am winning out here, but Jeff came to me on this one as I have posted about Maholm, Crosby, and others.  If Porcello doesn't do well as Mr. Wren predicts then he will do well in this trade.
