This vote goes until Voting closes: January 12, 2017, 10:54:54

I think another 6-8 owners still need to vote. :toast:

Question for the Commissioners, do owners that own more than one franchise count as 1 vote or the same number as the number of franchises they own?

A well-conditioned team wins in the first ten minutes, maybe less. The opponent is destroyed not just on the scoreboard but their will is broken when an opponent comes out hard and fast.

Traditionally an FNHL owner had as many votes as they did teams since extra teams were purchased as an investment. Kind of like having shares of a public company.:thumbsup:

Given the possibility of an increase to the maximum number of games played before a prospects needs to be signed to an Entry Level contract and the likelihood of a Supplemental Draft to be established in 2018, I propose Minor league rosters be increased to accommodate these respective changes.

If you look at how MLB and NHL minor leagues are structured, it supports the need to create more minor league roster spots.

I recommend increasing MiLR to 45-50 with another 20 for Supplemental Draft players.

no.. minor leagues are already far too big for a fantasy league.

Scroll through the teams.  Only 1 or 2 have maxed their minor roster, most are in the 15/20 range, and about 1/4 of the teams have less than 15.  I didnt do the full numbers but I would say there is currently room for at least another 300-400 players in the minor leagues.

If the goal is to make Specs and draft picks more valuable and reward owners that do their homework, then I agree with Dickie Dunn.

If you have more prospects available to add at anytime through FA they'll be less scarce and therefore less valuable.

If thats the case or the aim to make FA's harder to come by, dont put a cap on milr at all,,, or make MILR eligible players ineligible to be signed via FA.  So in our case here any players with less than 80 NHL games played can not be signed via Free Agency.

Although if you go that route,  I would recommend putting an age limit to minor league eligibility at say 24 or 25.

btw, pigs/ppg  You may have already done this but if you set the minor league eligibility settings it makes the minor league very easy to police. all you have to do is go to Team > roster violations and it will show any team with minor league roster violations.

Edit: The problem I see with continuing to increase the size of the MILR is our depth of knowledge on prospects can only go so far.  At some point there is a tipping scale where it goes from well researched doing your home work to you mine as well just pick a name out of a hat because the players are that obscure.  Increasing the milr will also not stop gms from signing players in FA that they think is a diamond in the rough. They will sign them rather than take the chance or waiting for a supplemental draft.

I would agree with DickieDunn regarding an increase to the size of the farm roster. However, I would not increase it to the extent that DickieDunn proposed because as Snugerud mentioned it can create a negative effect whether the effort to build and maintain one's farm becomes too time consuming and draft picks are effectively devalued when teams just toss them into trades as an afterthought.

Mind you, the we may soon be able to freely use prospects in your active lineup without signing them to a Rookie Contract until they reach 80-something games will boost Draft Pick value.

I dont say good deal bad deal or i like this side better.  My goal is to provide a fair platform where people are free to trade and not be judged because nobody knows for sure how these trades will play out. Lots of ACLs are gonna tear between now and new years.  Im always happy that two strangers with different backgrounds can meet in our league and enjoy freedom to be themselves and do what THEY THINK is best. I love every deal. (Had to share that @Braves) :toast:
