I don't have a problem changeing things if everybody is on the same page. I strongly disagree that MiLr roster players should be able to collect points on fantrax. Whats the point of a salary cap?

example

Ryan Nugget Hopkins has 19 points already and no contract. If he has a contract he would be a 3 mill cap hit. So with your proposal he would have almost 40 points by the time he would have to be signed. Which also means the owning team can have another player who could have the same points in his slot. Then even when added to  the main roster and droping such extra player. The team has a bunch of free points and did not have to tie any cap to it really. I hope that made sence.... lol

I'm open to being able to send players up and down. It can work smoothly like it does in other leagues I'm in but I would need some help on fantrax in some cases..

Well you could shorten the amount of games that a player has to play before mandatory transfer.  Most players don't perform at the exceptional level RNH has...Seguin took his first year to acclimate.  Sending players back and forth...it just seems like more work.  What are the concerns about having the players added on fantrax and simply left on the rosters.  Furthermore it helps the owners to evaluate the talent, and to correlate how their players perform in our system...that's an additional benefit.  I can look up stats but its hard to calculate them into points, this is much easier.

My concerns are the free points with minor leaguers like i said above.

You should only be able to acumalte points for a certin player if you have the cap space, roster space and have included him as part of your roster.

As I have said I'm willing to add call ups. It's the easy solution and something I have been thinking about.

It isn't free points, you make the decision to draft and hold oonto the players.  There are consequences for those choices.  If you want to track call ups feel free to my friend.  I just think you're wasting your time and unless you plan on updating fantrax multiple times a day, you're going to be bogged down.  Furthermore, what if somebody is a scratch and a team is calling a guy up last second.  I then in turn post it but unfortunately a staff has no time to do the transaction.  The guy plays one game in real life and is sent back to AHL.  I then get my guy called up at the next convienece although I no longer need him and I immediately send him back down...two wasted transaction...and I haven't gotten my points...I see this situation happening.

I vote to leave the rule as it is now. Its much better. Moves were made with this rule in place. No change is needed.

On a side Gilly and Peter have been great at running this league. The league is in far better shape now then it was last spring. Great job boys.

I'm gonna have to agree with Chris' point though I don't think it's that big of a deal. Minors rules were set from day 1. Forty games then they get paid and occupy a roster spot with the big boys, regardless if they come up and down 39 times. It took me three weeks and $3.5m to get Brett Connelly on my roster when he only had 10 professional games under his belt, but it's all good. I thought the minors roster expansion draft was stupid restricting it to players drafted in 2011. Once again, 40 games is 40 games.
League better or worse? Not sure, only a month into the season. Mike has done a fine job maintaining the competitiveness with replacing deadbeat GMs that were an issue last year. Florida and Pitt keep stealing all my prospects   >:(         And Drew not having a goalie was karma for ripping off Anahiem in that Hiller deal :P

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.

  • Daddy: Just know, if you miss time at any point of the year, not just the active season. You have missed a lot. You've probably fallen behind your competition. Ten-Fifteen guys in all three of those leagues dont ever miss any opportunities.

  • Daddy: One more thing. The NFL LIVE waiting list is longer than you see on profsl or fantrax. There are people that know people that want in that league. No pressure on anyone but i cant just hold your franchise while you draft and do nothing else.
