I will disapprove as well.  Sorry Rox/Yanks, in my opinion, the ceiling of Belt/Sappelt far outweighs the return.  I understand the Rockies looking to acquire pitchers, but Belt's value is relatively established as a top 30 prospect both in ranking sheets and this league, and top prospects garner good to great value in this league.

Replacing Hinske with a better hitter would probably change my mind on this deal, should you guys wish to rework it.

If this one gets vetoed as I am suspecting it will, I am going to kindly ask all 29 other teams to please not offer me any trades as the amount of offers and PM's is overwhelming to me. Everyone wants players off of the Rocks and not so much prey, but attempt to possibly obtain a player from a new GM. I have already had 2 trades vetoed and a 3rd within a week is really bad. I will look at specs, free agent signings, extensions etc. of that nature, but no trading for me for awhile. There is a reason that Colby has a rule that a new GM cannot trade for 2 weeks. I know player value, but I need to step back and really look at things. Thanks for understanding.

P Gibson, Kyle, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Banuelos, Manny, $0.5m (2011)
P Dwyer, Christopher, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Duffy, Danny, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Rasmus, Colby, $0.5m (P-2012)

for

OF Upton, Justin, $6.5m (2015)
2.5M in 2011, 2.5M in 2012

Rasmus 16 a game, way better contract

for

Upton 16 a game

AND were now gona add in 4 top 100 specs, Gibson #34, Banuelos #41, Duffy #68, Dwyer #83

Those are Baseball America's rankings. The same rankings has Belt at #23.

The trade above was practically giving a team 4 specs. You can argue that one spec may be needed MAYBE! But 3. So now I am trying to trade for #23 while giving him young workable pieces to win this year.

And this is why I am no longer on the TC. The Rockies had an obvious need and filled it. The Yanks got a very good prospect whose star has dimmed somewhat since the start of the season, and Sappelt who is like 5 guys in every organization. I am not on the TC (as stated above), but around last years trade deadline there were many similar trades (I for one did Michael Brantley for and injured Andy Pettitte - good job me). I think the problem with the trade is about perception. Belt is a perceived future star, and Stewart and Blackburn are perceived scrubs (this is just the sense I get - I could be wrong). Also Reid has stated that he wants to win now, I think he is of sound mind and body about what he is doing. We cannot keep second guessing every trade and every GM, because that is not the deal that 'we' would have made, or because 'we' could have offered better players. At the same time I also don't think it should be a free for all.

But again this is why we have the TC in place, and their job is not an easy one, I do not envy it.

Just to throw this out there, Mauer was injured when he was traded for Belt and Ian Stewart. Plus the amount of offers that I received for Belt when he was in Cincy were just plain horrible. If I had accepted one of those out of need, would it have been vetoed - those offers came from some of our most vocal members. Just saying. I might still have the offers in my PM inbox if anyone wants to see them.

I have never been a member of the TC, but let's try to look at the big picture here.  Can we honestly say that the TC has been too heavy-handed in a league in which three of the teams (Mets, Cubs, and Angels) with the largest salary caps are bottom feeders through no fault of their current owners?  If anything, you could argue that the TC has been too lenient in approving deals.
