VETOED TRADE - Flyers - Coyotes make a deal
« on: April 23, 2015, 11:56:47 AM »
Flyers get:
Henrik Lundqvist 6.2 (2013-2017)
Mark Giordano 2.4 (2013-2016)
Peter Budaj .5 (2014-2016)

Coyotes get:
Joe Pavelski 7.9 (2013-2018)
Radim Vrbata 3.6 (2014-2017)
Michael Latta, $0.2m (2014-2016)
Chris Butler, $0.2m (2014-2016)
Dalton Prout, $0.2m (2013-2015)

Flyers agree to this deal.  We get a goalie that we badly need.  Lundqvist is getting older but is still productive and is almost $3m a year cheaper than Bob was.  When his contract is up hopefully my young goalies will be NHL ready.  If feel this deal brings me back into contention for a cup as well.  If Lundqvist stays healthy the Flyers will be a force!

:veto:

I will VETO given this deal would destroy :PHO: Arizona out of the gate.
Man those Philly owners are aggressive. LOL

Giordano and Lundqvist are the 2 biggest pieces left on that team.
Both those players have contracts anyone would overpaid to land.
Lundqvist is nearly impossible to replace in free agency.

I am not apart of the trade committee, but I  do agree that this deal is very lopsided in philadelphias favor.

One of the cool things about this league is is that all members are part of the trade committee. All opinions matter.

I would recommend that Arizona dig into some of the past trades we have had here. Lundqvist alone was almost worth the return as posted.

I would agree it is really lopsided if this was a few years ago.  I'm not bashing Lundqvist but he is gonna be 34 and has had injuries.  There is some risk.  We got a new owner with a plan in Arizona.  This trade gives him a more well rounded lineup.  It fits needs for both teams.

First I would like to invite you to look at my roster. Then I would ask you to look at last years standings. Its a short fall off the bunk beds when you are sleeping on the floor folks. This team isnt going to be in cup contention for at least 3 years. I just added Krejci....trading what I said I wouldnt.....a draft pick. This is all about production and points. How this team won 3 games last year I'm clueless to that. With the additions of Pavelski and Vabratta along with Oshie and Krejci thats more point production than if you guys nix this trade. I have a plan its a 3 year plan. This team will be built through drafts and phonecalls. I'm here for the long haul guys not a 1 and done. Paul knows me the longest and I have pulled some eyebrow moves in his other league. Two chairs couple 2nds, 2 3rds and a fourth..

:veto:

Terrible deal for Arizona.
That's a weak return for Lundqvist and Giordano.

To get Halak from :STL-NHL: to :SJ: I had to give up Seguin, Burns, 1st Rounders and someone else I think. Wasn't cheap.

You're basically giving away cow with the milk Blk.
Knowing you Blk I'd totally pass this deal if your roster had more punch but you're really shooting yourself in the foot here by selling your players short. Trust us. We don't veto because you're in our division. We know the lay of the land. Also you're one of few teams that owns a crap load of cap space. Not everyone can add a 7.9m contract. You'll see in a few months.

Hit the books some more Lol

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.
