Hawks swimming with Sharks. Deal Finally Struck!
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:15:47 PM »
Hawks and Sharks had to take a dump or get off the pot on this deal we've been talking about like little school girls. BB's going for another rebuild and my Hawks are gearing up for war against LA :LAK: , STL :STL-NHL: and our bitter rival WPG :WIN:

We're cashing in our Bluechippers for a shot at the championship this yr!  :win:

Traded to :CHI-NHL: CHICAGO
G Cam Ward, $6.3m (2012-2016)
C Dainius Zubrus, $3.2m (2012-2015)
RW Jack Skille, $0.7m (2013-2015)
D Michael Del Zotto, $4.6m (2012-2015)
Round 4 - 2015 :SJ:

Traded to :SJ: SAN JOSE
C Mike Richards, $5.8m (2010-2018)
RW David Clarkson, $4.5m (2013-2016)
Prospect C - Scott Laughton (2012: 1/20 - 36 Games)
Prospect C - Marko Dano (2013: 1/27 - 8 Games)
Prospect G - Mason McDonald (2014: 2/34 - 0 Games)
Round 1 - 2015 :CHI-NHL:
Round 2 - 2015 :CHI-NHL:

Few of the players we're taking on have contract beyond this yr or next. Toughest part is dealing all those 1st rounders but we had to pay for shipping out Mike, bring in Cam and the depth we'll need to a long run!

BB to confirm.

We will head to 2015-16 with Halak as our starter and Ward was a spare tire and a few too many miles on the odometer. He helps us bring in Laughton, Dano and a couple of high picks. Clarkson is a good character guy but stuck in a bad situation. Same with Richards and he might land with the Leafs which works for me next yr if I keep him.

To me it boils down to us dealing Cam Ward for
3 1st rounders
2 2nd rounders and
2 veterans.

Not bad at all in my books for a rebuilding move!
Negotiations were not quick at all but it finally happened. Thanks PPG! :toast:

I require from my teams, proper levels of anger, belligerence and some good ol' fashion piss 'n' vinegar.

Kings will try to make it painless PPG ;-)

:iatp: Mike Richards and Michael Del Zotto are wild cards in this deck of players. Overall this looks like a draw with each team getting plenty of what they want.

:iatp: I will give the edge to SJ because they unlocked value in their 3rd goalie and getting lots if young highend prospects and draft picks. Hawks get lots of good players for their playoff drive.

:iatp: personally I think Chicago is overpaying but this is a different market with the playoffs around the corner. Win goes to SJ for getting a ton of good parts for their rebuild.

Guys, there's a roadblock here... :CHI-NHL: has 3.3m in avail cap while this deal needs Chicago to add 4.5m. Roster space is fine.

Post a solution otherwise cancel this trade. PM will be sent to both teams to notify them of this matter.

  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on.
