Angels/Cardinals Trade

Cardinals trade:
CI Inge, Brandon, $3m (2013)
RP Cordero, Francisco, $0.5m (2011)

Angels trade:
SP Lowe, Derek, $4.5m (2012)
OF McDonald, Darnell, $0.5m (P-n/a)

We trade a starting CI, a closer, and take on $1.5m in salary in order to improve the starting pitching.  Angels to confirm.  Thanks and good luck with your rebuilding job Dave!

I don't think this trade should be approved.  Closers don't have nearly the value in this league that they do in real life due to our unique scoring system for pitchers.  Also, Inge and Cordero are both well over 30.  I don't see how picking up two aging vets will help a rebuilding team.

There is no way this should be approved.  Closers are worthless in this league and Inge is as old as balls.  How does picking up 2 35 year old guys help a rebudling team anyway.  I will be curious how the TC rules after all that chatter about protecting the lesser teams in the league, especially new owners who obviously some see as nothing more than fish food in this league.

It's actually a 33 year old and a 35 year old for a 37 year old with a $4.5m salary through 2012.

I accept this trade.

Closers are not worthless in this league if they were then why have them.Hey,how about any of you trade me two good playing prospects for Lowe i didn't think so.I have had only 4 owners come forward to try and help me field a team out of this god awful mess.Nobody in this league would trade me a couple of young players for Derek Lowe.So not needing pitching i traded for a decent corner infielder who i can use and is playing and a closer who is the closer for Cincy.Since no one is offering me trades what can i do.Just leave the team sit and not be active at all.I traded an agiing player for an aging player and Darnell McDonald for a good RP.Since you all say that Pitching is not relevant in this league WHAT AM I TO DO.Do i trade all my players that score points in fantasy for young guys who may or may not ever get into a starting lineup with the big boys or try and get someone who plays regularly that i need to fill my roster with.WERE IS ALL THE HELP HERE FROM ALL YOU OWNERS WHO ARE HOARDING ALL THE PLAYERS YOU DON'T EVEN USE,there is nothing on the waiver wire to pick up.My thanks goes out to the 4 owners(you know who you are)for giving me a chance to even consider a trade,By the way i am not a 13 year old kid i am a 56 year old man who happens to enjoy watching an older player achieve greatness.I took on this team to see what i could do with it because i love to play.

By the way, Derek Lowe was the 34th ranked SP in 2009 and 2010.  That would translate into $9.5m per year under our contract system.  He is currently the 8th best SP in 2011.

In order for me to make this team better i need other owners to trade with me which is not happening.

I will approve this trade.  It seems to me that Dave is aware of all of the variables here and has decided this trade is good for his team.  Lowe is older and not consistent throughout an entire year.  He also has tons of pitching.

The RP arguement, no matter what they score a GM must gets points from those spots in their lineups.

I also find it comical that Roy has pushed so hard for filling a roster and Dave made a move to help do so and there is objection.

GM's need to begin to respect the opinions of other GM's.  He may have a different opinion what is best and is welcome to it.
