I kind of feel like that would be circumventing the rules as we knew that when waivers closed that experience minor leagues would be stuck down there until next season. Could you give me a specific example of how this may benefit a team?
Maybe you could answer a different question for me. The expansion rules now indicate that the new teams may select only a single goalie....but it isn't clear if that includes minor league goalies. Can an expansion team take one roster goalie, and then load up on minor league goalies without limit?
Isn't there one more extension period?
i) Of these 17 players, 9 must have contracts for the 2017-18 season
ahm about this... am just confuse,,, we cant protect expired contracts and can only protect players with 2017 contracts onwards? and also expansion teams cant select players that have an expired contracts?... am i right?..so those players have expired contracts are safe, not to be pick by an expansion team.. but there fate rely on the current team if they will be resigned or not in the next extension period?..... i protected players with expiring contracts lol ... .. want to confirm this question so i can edit my protection list..
Seems to be some confusion on what minors are protected. Is it players draft in the last 2 real life drafts or last 2 fantasy drafts here? Chicago protected Myers, who was drafted here in '16.
