Name Challenge

2 new GMs hired in under 2 hours, must be a new record!

As easy as it might be to expand the league I was wondering what that might look like. My first impulse was to imagine two new teams added to create four divisions of five teams each. Now to be honest I don't care if this is a good idea or if the structure should be different if it is. What I want to know is what the heck would you call it?

In all honesty I would actually love to expand to 24 teams to have 4 divisions of 6 but this is working with 18 to well. I also don't want upset the good thing we have here.

Gah! Sorry for the confusion. Just musing on what the Division name would be......mostly because I like them as is. There's an elegance to the 3 Divisions as they stand now. And yes, BackYard is working fine but it is nice to have some new personalities to talk trade with. That's what got me wondering about expansion.....and a 4th Division name.

Drew wants 24 teams so we could add 6 and have an Expansion Division

I think that if we ever expanded we do it slow and do 2 teams at a time. I also want Colorado Avalanche if we ever expanded lol

Jesse, if you've been here for a year you will qualify to change your Franchise regardless of expansion. But can't see you staying in Original Six if you do.....

Yeah I've wanted to change to the but haven't brought it up because it would really mess up the divisions.   >:(Even though I'm already in Minnesota, Canada!

For team changes it would have to happen in the off-season and there would have to be realignment of teams. So if Colorado and Washington were added an American team, say Columbus would move up to the Canadian and one American team would have to become the Rangers.

As for a 4 division league, I think if it was 6 teams at once Expansion would be the perfect name. If it was slow and 2 teams to create 4 divisions, I think something like a complete change would be in order which may even include a change of team names. I would love to go this way.
