I may be the only girl in the league but I do know baseball.

Maybe Boston knows that they will never be able to compete with Miami in AFB :P

 :toth:

I thought it was weird that he singled you out, maybe that's why.  Nicole don't know beisbol, veto veto!  haha

AFB 5 team trade

No! I didn't mean it that way! I just thought that with what MIA is giving up they should get more than Kratz, Holliday, Walker, and Alvarez as major assets... Unless one of the specs is a top prospect I'm not aware of. But how long have y'all been putting this together?
But if you want to play week 1, Miami, bring it on!

Actually, never mind, I'll retract my veto because of Choo's extension. Kind of glad I'm not the commish for trades like these.

She received $35 million too.  That's pretty gigantic.

True dat. I just thought Choo, Kipnis, Santana, Yelich, Stassi, a 1st, 2nd, 4th+5th rounder were too much for Holliday, Martinez, Wilhelmson, Alvarez, and Walker+$35MM but when you take out Choo, really the centerpiece that they give, it balances out. Everyone else's give-get's seem fair.

I did not say I want to play week 1 but if that is how it turns out..fine with me.  Like some of the college teams say...We will play anyone, anywhere.

Larry, Cliff(snbts) and I have been working out the deal since I lost to Houston in the NL championship series.  So I think it was that monday after that we started talking. Cliff has been doing most of the leg work and recently added Pittsburg last week and Philly today.  Pittsburg and Philly had a deal which we added to ours but also included some of our deal, so it was no small task and had alot of thought put into it.

Anyway, next year from this trade, I will have at least 6 players putting up points for me instead of 3.
Neil Walker
Pedro Alverez
Daniel Nava
Matt Holliday
Victor Martinez
Tom Wilhelmsen
Kevin Frandsen???
Erik Kratz???
Donnie Veal???

Compared to
Jason Kipnis
Carlos Santana
Matt Dominguez
Brian Boguesevic???
Marcell Ozuna???

With the depth of the league, the team that puts up the most points wins.  If I have more players putting up numbers, I win.  Did I give up some high prospects, yes.  Did I get some back with potential I like, yes.  Do I want to wait around 3-5yrs for them to get here and compete, no.  You want to develop your system, that's fine with me.  My system is loaded and I want to win now and plan to continue to do so.  The marlins have made the playoffs two out of two years in AFB.  Next year, I dont see that changing.

This trade just doesn't make any sense for the Miami Marlins franchise, I mean everybody knows that Loria would never allow his team to try to get better and win every year...

This is why this is a fantasy league.   No real owner would do what Loria does.
