A hefty price to pay in this league for a brittle starting goalie but he is cost controlled for 3 years and with Brodeur about ready to retire it brings a little more stability to the position for the Jets.  Basically I signed Weiss in the hopes I could trade Staal, Greiss, and a youngster for a starting goalie.  These guys have been on the block for a while and we were worried they might get 'lazy'.   

Adding Visentin isn't something I really wanted to do but I have Fucale and Subban as goalie depth in the system.

Detroit is extremely happy with this deal. It tied in with my other trade. I receive the Coyotes 1B and 1C goalies in Greiss and high end goalie prospect, Visentin. I needed CTR. depth and Jordan Staal fits perfectly, he will break out offensively this year. Add in super prospect, potential #2 Ctr for the Wild, Mikael Granlund was great.. Gives me depth in my MILR. Can you please place Granlund and Visentin on my MILR for now please. Thanks for the quick and easy deal yahoolando.

And i saw that it does not cripple your team , you have a lot of depth everywhere 

No goalie are cheap to get we saw that with back-up goalie in FA
