Phil Kessel, $5.4m (2013-14)
Nicklas Kronwall, $4.5m (2014-15)

to Vancouver for
Frans Nielsen, $1.4m (2013-14)
Martin St. Louis, $5.3m (2013-14)
Jeff Petry, $1.5m (2013-14)
Marc- Andre Bergeron, $0.5m (2013-14)
Stanislav Galiev, N/C (0 games)


I do this trade because I have no plans to sign Kessel next year as I have others that I plan to resign including Brown, Seabrook and Bishop who will need big raises.  Thanks for the deal Gilly. It only took a month.  :rofl:

Call me Homer Gilly cause I love my Leafs...theres no doubt that Kessel will finish his hockey career on my roster lol come hell or high water I will sign him over and over....and Kronwall is a nice little d-man, bit more than I want to pay but he did get 29 points in 48 games last year and did average almost 1.5 fpts a game which is pretty dam good not to mention his previous year he was outstanding and he is a massive work horse, hasn't missed a game in quite a while...Thanks Tony, for wanting Kessel so much it sure did take me awhile to decide on this, lol...enjoy my Marty :)

Both sides got what they wanted. Tony fills his roster out and dumps some cap. Kronwall is a nice add.

As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
