With both teams having their eyes on the future, it does make for a interesting trade. The Dodgers are NOT built to win right now. I figure we are a full year ahead of schedule. As we approach the midway point of the season and find ourselves in the playoff mix, I thought we should make a push.
I don't love giving up draft picks and international money, the Sox are getting what MAY be the top 3B in the system, 2 interesting Pitchers (Rolison (23) has had some success and is already in AA) , I've watched Leyba since he was at AA Jackson; he's been up and down the last couple years and now that he is in Baltimore's system, he may turn into a pretty usable player.
At the end of the day we were able to add 4 active, cost controllable MLB assets, without giving up any of our top 6 prospects. It was a deal that we absolutely had to get done.
