San Jose & New York Islanders Trade
« on: July 07, 2011, 12:42:20 AM »
Islanders Rec's
- James Van Reims Dyke

San Jose Rec's
- Dany Heatley
- 3rd Round Pick 2011

We were going to do straight up JVR for Heatley, but because he's eating so much cap and I feel JVR is a little bigger than Heatley that  a 3rd round pick was thrown in to even it out....He got what he wanted, I got what I wanted....we are some happy Gm's tonight..

Welcome to the Franchise League bud, with a great attitude like yours you are gonna have fun here :)

I confirm the trade.

I was looking to make a trade to kinda "put my mark" on the team I inherited. I acquired a player I wanted while trading a player I really liked. I feel it was a pretty good trade all in all. It was nice doing business with ya Gilly. This one's for you

Heatley scored about 50 points more than JVR last season, plus he gets a third round choice?  I will wait and see what other TC members think before voting

JVR is gonna be huge next year in Philly, thats why so much was given.

Couple things to be noted :)
1)  32 fantasy point differance, thats it in his favour, thats with Dany on the scoring machine in San Jose, and with JVR still coming into his own,
2)  He takes on 6 million in cap with a guy who could do well in his new home or suck royally which means I get JVR at a sick price of 1 million and change....so a 3rd round pick was thrown in to help burden the load of the cap he takes on and the risk in Heatley, oh yes I said risk in Heatley and for the fact JVR will be above and beyond Dany in 'fantasy points" as well.

I like to explain myself, so hope you don't take this as back talking as I don't mean it bad at all, just wanted to make sure you and others see that value in JVR and why San Jose GM needed a sweet return for him.

Cheers :)

Me and gill have battled tooth and nail on deals. and truthfully this is one of the better deals i have seen gilly do. San Jose win this year but gilly kills this trade for the many years to come.  :iatp:
