* promise to sign FA Mike Richards to eliminate SJ's cap commitment

Ward was a trade deadline addition last yr and not part of our longterm plans. Paajarvi-Larsson was a recent FA signing and I have plenty of LWs. We're not part with anyone we can't replace. Thanks for the trade BB.

Interesting trade. Will be interested to see how Mike Richards works himself into CHI's roster.



Giving the edge to CHI here but if Paajarvi pans out (finally) this could be a good deal for SJ.
