This move is almost the opposite of my recent moves, look fellas, I'm not all about star power. I give up some great pieces in Ladd and my 1st, and good pieces in the two d-men. But Fisher should still have a few good years left in him and I really hope Weiss can stay healthy and rebound with Babcock and the Wings this season. I really like Larsson, he hasn't shown much for being a 4th overall pick and is on an iffy NJ team, but he's still young and should blossom soon. Petrovic is another cheap d-man that hopefully sticks to the big club.

Detroit is parting ways with RW Daniel Briere, $0.9m (2014-2015). Briere served us well in our playoff run, but we do not see him in our future.

Detroit will reallocate funds to complete the buyout of Tyler Myers all this year. Myers was still owed 0.6m after this year.

X-D Tyler Myers, Released contract through 13/14, $11.8m this year
