It took some back and forth with Snug, but a great GM like him knows what he wants for the future of his team. I think this deal works out well for both of us. Montreal needed serious help on the RW and I am strong in that area, so I used it as an opportunity to pick up depth in other areas and move up in the first round.

Carolina and Detroit have reached an agreement. I'm thinking Jussi will be the man in Florida and Mantha is someone that I am very high on. Corvo is there to make the caps work. I give up a lot of good young talent and many people might think that I lose this deal, but hopefully you all think that I know what I'm doing.

I saw Dan's trade block and knew that we could work something out. Yakupov has a lot of room to grow, but you gotta love a former 1st overall pick. I give up an stud in Ladd, but future stars don't come available everyday.

As everyone might have noticed, I've been moving up in the draft lately, I do that here and add some cheap D depth. Its tough giving up good youngsters like Gallager and Reinhart but Collberg is a great prospect and I feel good making this deal because I have a lot of RW depth.

The Canucks were shopping for another goalie and I picked up Backstrom for this very reason, to flip him to someone else. I get a good D-man on a cheap contract, trade up in the draft, and save a little cap space, 3 things I really like. To do that I give up a backup G/potential starter, but I am pretty confident that I'll be fine with Howard and Allen in net.

I'm deep enough that Akeson is buried behind better NHL talent, so I can afford to wait and see if Subban pans out. He definitely won't be either of his brothers, but I'm hoping the talent in the family runs deep, even for the little guy.

I'm starting to feel bad for Pigs and PPG, all these trades and all of FA. But I think this is the best off-season we've had here since I've been here and I love it! Keep it up boys! I don't want my championship to come easy

Round 2 - 2014

Another caller for my trade block. I lose the productive stud Pavelski, but I gain a young emerging star on a great contract and a good pick. Hopefully Gallager continues to grow and proves again that size doesn't matter. Some of the new people don't know this, but I got Pavelski earlier this summer for a 2nd and 4th rounder so I like my return.
