Extensions on non-expiring players must be equal to or greater than the value and length of the contract in force.  You can't renew an existing contract for less than it's worth currently.

RE: Re-sign bumping up - Not for re-signs. For FA contracts/bids this will be allowed but re-sign/extensions the values are what they are (earned) as there is already flexibility for years there vs. FA
