Makes sense for Minnesota to try and get some depth out a a skilled guy like Skinner.

The edge goes to Minnesota for acquiring a slightly rarer commodity in a pair of blueliners though Phaneuf might be a lower return on investment than Niskanen all while adding a draft pick to bolster their minor league system.

Buffalo will likely benefit from a Franchise Player hometown discount on Skinner.
