2011 FGM Entry Draft Thread

Bob, you are new to this league.  You have to understand that every situation is different.  The previous situations with the Royals and Angels were different from each other and different from the latest Royals episode.  In this event, he sent me a list of prerankings, and I completely forgot about them when I updated the draft yesterday.  Simple as that...

It appears the Marlins would be the only team that would take Kyle Winkler, so let's have them verify their pick and move forward.

I am new to this league and just trying to figure out how things are run here.  This is what you posted on the first page of the draft thread.

Everyone, if you don't make your pick then you will not be skipped... your pick will automatically be made the next time someone has a chance to post it.  Please submit prerankings when you are almost up.  You can do this via PM, but that doesn't even guarantee your pick if that person (me or someone else) doesn't check their Inbox in an eight hour span.

Just trying to determine why this rule was not followed in this case.  Since this rule isn't followed everytime it must be more of a guideline that the commish can choose to follow or not follow depending on the circumstance.    Seems the answer to my question was C.  Special Circumstances.  To me rules that are made should be followed at all times.  If you break them for special circumstances once it is a slippery slope that can cause problems down the road.

Prerankings were submitted, so it was a Commissioner error here... and the rule is bound to fail down the line due to user errors in the draft.  It has worked 90% of the time thus far.
