Phils - Pirates deal

[papps]

Phillies receive:

C Hanigan, Ryan, $5m (2014)
$1m paid in 2013

for

P Melancon, Mark, $0.5m (P-2013)
RP Morales, Franklin, $0.5m (2013)

I do this deal as I need another C with Ruiz suspended.  I feel this is better than overspending in free agency.

Thanks for the easy deal Colby  :toth:

The Pirates free up $8m from the books - $3m this year and $5m the next.  We bring in much needed pitching for our barren staff.

The wrong guy was processed on Fantrax. I traded Melancon not Mahtook.
