The Phillies and Pirates have come to an agreement.

Phillies receive:
OF Ethier, Andre, $12m (2013)
X-OF Ethier, Andre, Cash Exchanged on Contract through 2013, $-6m in 2012
SP Suppan, Jeff, $0.5m (2013)

Pirates receive:
SP Worley, Vance, $0.5m (P-2014)
CI Anderson, Lars, $0.5m (P-n/a)

I agree to this deal to continue to revamp my OF.  Given up Worley hurts but I believe Ethier is in the prime of his career and is very consistent.  With Rizzo and Singleton I didn't have much room for Anderson.

If this trade is approve please release Jeff Suppan.

This deal is the first of several in revamping the Pirates into a solvent franchise with a young core of players instead of a mix of veterans.
