Nationals/Reds Trade

[lp815]

The Nationals and Reds have agreed to the following, pending approval on June 1st:

Nationals receive:
SP Britton, Zach, $2m (2012)
CI Davis, Ike, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Espinosa, Danny, $0.5m (2011)

Red receive:
CI Headley, Chase, $0.5m (P-2011)
CI Sanchez, Gaby, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Nationals make this trade to gain more potential for future years.  Headley and Sanchez are playing well this season, but I'm not going to compete this year.  Espinosa comes back home, hopefully Davis proves worth this trade, and Britton is playing good Minor ball and I hope to see him within the next two years.

Nationals will subsequently drop MI Pena, Ramiro, $0.5m (2010) to make room on the 40 man roster.

Thanks Dan, a pleasure as always.

Reds agree. Giving up Davis is tough but Headley and Sanchez are both very good and deepen my line up. Britton will be good but he is a few years away. This also sets up my third trade of the day, which will soon be posted.
