Pirates & Blue Jays swap young money

[Colby]

I agree with the points made in general.  I think this is something that needs to be settled with the RC quickly.  We may have to restrict the trading of cash in order to keep it simple for GMs and administration.

Please refer to the Rules Committee topics to discuss this matter further, and the RC can make a ruling before any other trades of this sort are approved or denied.

Thanks guys. :koolaid:

I think this would be a more legitimate trade as cash is for players' contracts only...

For a good reason, we have to go back to the drawing board.  The current proposal puts all trades of cash on hold unless it fits the proposal that the cash traded can only go to a contract and cannot be more than such a contract.  This reduces our trade to the following (I modified the draft picks)..

OF Jackson, Austin, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for

OF Buck, Travis, $0.5m (2011)
P Morton, Charlie, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Frasor, Jason, $1m (2011)
3-4 PIT
$2m for the 2010 contracts
$1.5m for the 2011 contracts

This will be the new trade

OF Jackson, Austin, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Casey Janssen $0.5m (2011)
P Jeremy Accardo $0.5m (2011)

for

OF Buck, Travis, $0.5m (2011)
P Morton, Charlie, $0.5m (P-2010)
P Frasor, Jason, $1m (2011)
3-4 PIT
4-25 PIT (from CIN from LAA)
$2m for the 2010 contracts
$1.5m for the 2011 contracts

Agreed... the first deal wasn't a bad one, but it set a bad precedent.  This deal is very legit, and I accept based on prior reasonings.

I approve of this deal. Way to hammer out a deal guys. Good job.
