2018 FNHL Entry Draft (OFFICIAL)

[Jonathan]

Jonathan's Oilers can't lose in the #2 spot. It's Rasmus Dahlin or Andrei Svechnikov!

Yeah, and last time the consolation prize was Eichel. Can't complain

[AntMan]

Edmonton is on auto-pick. We have a short list of 2 players

Sorry, I’ve had bad luck with auto pick working as intended. Makes sense if you trust Fantrax, it looks like it worked well. It felt a bit like I took your card to the podium...

Congratulations on Dahlin.

Damn so close to taking the player I wanted after the top 3, izaman u just had to take the Michigan and :VAN: D wonderkid, luckily got one of my top 6 players on my draft list in Wahlstrom

[izaman3]

haha, if Hughes wasn't available then I would taken Wahlstrom too. Had to take Hughes. I still wanted Detroit to take him, but we had to settle for Zadina...

I got to see this kid up close I'm really excited for him.

[EndGame]

Tkachuk is a beast. He fits Ottawa's plans perfectly.
Dobson would've probably been drafted after the #5 hole but couldn't chance that and that's what the draft is all about, picking up the players you really want and making sure it happens. It really boiled down to Dobson and Wahlstrom for me at #5, but a RHS blueliner is a great piece to add and Noah will crack the NHL sooner than later because of that and many other great qualities.

#9 :CLS: Blk is OTC

[blkhwkfn]

CBJ #9 went with the LW Russian Vitali Kravtsov. The need was on the blue line but the value here was too good to pass on. I Believe this kid is a year away and further along than a couple of the blueliners that went close to 9. The NHL Rangers did select him at 9 seen him ranked as high as 6th.

12. :BUF-NHL:  (from :COL-NHL:; originally :PHO:) picked C - Barrett Hayton (Yotes took him 5th overall). Surprised he lasted this long. Figured he'd be gone by the 10 slot. My preferred pick was Evan Bouchard but he was taken a pick earlier. He was the guy I had in mind when I completed my trade with the Avs to move back in the draft from #1. Damn those Pens. Hayton is a great pick at #12.

[blkhwkfn]

Yes Hayton is solid I was a bit surprised he went as high as he did in the actual draft. That said I was more surprised Zona took him, thought a wing would have been a better call since they are loaded up the middle.

Nice Pick Pigs that kid is smallish but close enough to 6 foot and elite playmaking ability.

Was looking at Borchard for the Leafs but crow got him. No complaints as I am real high on LW Joel Farabee.

Good pickup. Still iffy with those Russian players.
