2018 FNHL ENTRY DRAFT
(UN-OFFICIAL)

Below is the order that each team will be drafting in this years entry draft. The draft will officially begin Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 0h01 ET. However teams with the top picks can feel free to post their selection earlier (at their discretion).

* 12-HOUR CLOCK Each team will have 12 hours to make a selection, starting with AntMan :COL-NHL: COLORADO AVALANCHE (acquired from Buffalo Sabres). You will make your selection on Fantrax in the DRAFT ROOM. Fantrax will email the next team to select - please ensure your contact information is accurate.

* 2018 FNHL Draft Eligible players CLICK HERE 2018 NHL Drafted Prospects.

* AUTO-PICK If you do not make a selection in the allotted 12-hour time frame, the highest available player from the actual 2018 NHL Entry Draft will be auto-picked for you, then you will be set to auto-pick unless you PM the commissioners or individual organizing the draft.

* Alert PigsRule / PsychoticPondGoons if you have any questions or see a need for a correction instead of posting in this thread!

* Drafted players will be updated on MiLR as the draft progresses.

* A Play-off team's draft position will be determined by the Stanley Cup playoff results. Whichever team wins the Stanley Cup is awarded the 31st and last pick, while the runner-up is given the 30th pick. Teams eliminated in the conference finals are awarded the 29th and 28th picks, with the 29th pick going to the team with the better regular season record. Remaining division winners, then the rest of the field are ranked next, filling in the 26th through 15th picks. In both cases, better records result in later picks.

# denotes auto-pick
:taco::taco:  denotes last draftee updated on team page

[PigsRule]

Lots of great prospects in this yrs entry draft. Havent drafted this high since joining FNHL in the Summer of 2011 when my cats had the 11th pick I think.

[PsychoticPondGoons]

Eliminated in FNHL Playoffs Round 2
:MON-NHL:  Atlantic Div Champions
:NYR:  Metro Div #3
:COL-NHL:  Central Div #3
:STL-NHL:  WildCard #2

All four have been added to the 2018 FNHL Entry Draft List. :judge:

[Rock On]

Would've been nice to still own that 2nd overall draft pick (originally belonged to my :SJ: Sharks).
Have fun using the pick, Edmonton. :toast:

[Rock On]

Did some digging and found how my Sharks lost their 2nd overall draft pick in this year's draft

:EDM:Brayden Schenn, $6.9m (2016-2020)
Dmitry Orlov, $1.5m (2015-2018)

for

:SJ:
John Gaudreau, $0.2m (2014-2017-EL)  6.6m (2017-2021)
Brayden McNabb, $3.0m (2016-2019)
G - Christopher Gibson (2011: 2/49 - 4 Games)
1st round pick 2018

Added Post 2017 Draft to title

Now I'll have to see where Orlov and Schenn ended up. That one stings.

[Rock On]

San Jose sending

Brayden Schenn, $6.9m (2016-2020)

Colorado sending

Christian Djoos, $3.9m (2017-2020)
Alec Martinez, $6.7m (2016-2020)
SDP Round 1 - 2018

San Jose Management to confirm

Johnny Gaudreau & 2nd overall entry draft pick
turned into B.Schenn
then Schenn ended up becoming Martinez and a Supplemental Pick.

Isn't it fun to look back at the history of your franchise!? LOL

[Jonathan]

Hindsight is 20/20. The loss in that trade was McNabb, who went from a 50 pt season to a 100 pt season. I am sure the SJ GM didn't anticipate putting together the 30th best team in a 31 team league.

I hope you're wearing a hard hat while digging past SJ moves, safety first. I make trades with goals in mind, and that pick was a reward. It could of been 10-15th if SJ had a plan. They could of even made the playoffs in the Pacific. You only had to win 50% of the time to take the division.
