Pittsburgh - Tampa trade young stars in the making

[Colby]

All that work to acquire Turner goes down the drain when I have the ability to bring in a young stud catcher who will add points this year and the next on the cheap.  Farm drops to an all-time low in talent, but the talent is in the big leagues!

:TB: receives
SP Turner, Jacob, $2m (2012) + $1.5m in 2011 from Yankees
OF Marte, Starling, $0.5m (P-n/a) [take off EDR]

:PIT: receives
C Wieters, Matt, $0.5m (P-2012) + $500k from Tampa in 2011

Tampa agrees to this deal.  We hate to see Wieters leave, but I am envisioning a fireballing rotation of Price, Matt Moore and Turner as soon as next season.  Couple this with a nucleus of C Posey, CI Longoria, MI Hanley (owed only 18.5M per combined for next handful of years) and a fairly deep farm and the future looks bright in Tampa.

The Pirates add a young stud who will be a top 5 catcher one day soon.  I am praying Turner and Marte are what they are hyped to be.  Thanks for the smooth talks Colby  :toast:
